as good as it gets
If there is more than one person drinking tea in the house, tetsubin comes right away to perfectly brew your tea and keep it warm long enough to the second (large) cup. Mine came with a chip at the pouring tip, apearently due to a drop or some sort of hit from freight handlers most likely, but since I live abroad, decided not to return it. Also the lid's tip seems to be too delicate. Other than that, it's a great product. As a matter of fact, I bought a 2nd one as a Mother's day gift. I do enjoy it everytime...and so will you tea buddies! Important: boil water in a separate recipient!
Pros:
Attractive Design
Best Uses:
Brewing

Good sturdy teapot
My family always brewed tea, and is a big part of beverages we love. Several years ago I really got into brewing my own tea using loose leaf tea, as opposed to the bags I used most of my life. And there is a big difference. This pot is very solid, cast iron with a ceramic interior. You can't heat water in it on the stove, but I have a kettle for that. Even if you could perform that function with the pot, you would have to empty the water out into another vessel then pour it back in over the tea. So I have no qualms over this aspect of the pot. One thing I do wish though is that the infuser was larger. Compared to other infusers it is big, holds about 3-4 full tablespoons of loose tea, but considering it is a 48 oz. pot, that is not enough tea to water ratio, if one wishes to be technical. And you never fill an infuser up all the way cause the tea needs to absorb the water and expand. I was never a big fan of infusers, but even with this one's size limitations, I would still greatly recommend this pot. I generally buy good quality tea, and brew a lot, so using a little less is kinder on my money and has not greatly affected the taste at all. The price was a little more than I wanted, but I loved the fact that it was for 48 oz. When I brew tea, usually I brew four cups (as in 32 oz, not tea cup size) and this was a wonderful find. Overall, I would highly recommend this product. Very stable, simple cleaning, and decorative as well.
Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Cons:
need bigger infuser.
Best Uses:
brew tea
